Wishful Thinking

Margaret Carlson is one of Hillary Clinton's chief media cheerleaders, so it's no surprise that she would be insisting that Republicans won't be able to back their assertion that Hillary is "angry."

But wishing doesn't make it so. Has Carlson ever heard one of Hillary's shrill, eardrum-breaking speeches? Sounds pretty angry to me.

Carlson also indulges in weak logic, invoking Hillary's political success in New York as evidence that she can be politically successful elsewhere. The fact is that Jesse Helms could have had a "60 percent approval rating" in conservative North Carolina -- but it wouldn't be proof that he could win a nationwide campaign. Same goes for Hillary in liberal New York. If she had won a Senate seat in South Carolina -- or even in Colorado -- then all bets would be off.

But for now, I'm not that impressed.

Carol, just a general comment. The first blog that I read each evening is yours.... and I read quite a few. More importantly, I agree with just about everything you write and that is generally reaffirmed as I browse the other sites. I appreciate the strong, consistent stand.

Carol, I read that article, too, & couldn't help but write about it. The paragraph where she says that Bush took over when "the economy was booming,...the Constitution was still intact, etc." was so error-filled that I titled my article Brilliant Writing, Solid Editing just to mock it.

Columnists like Margaret Carlson sneer at bloggers because we don't have editors & because they think we don't verify our facts. WRONG. Very badly WRONG!!!

They're the ones who don't factcheck & their editors are asleep at the wheel. Or they aren't behind the wheel at all. Who knows? They aren't doing their jobs, that's for certain.

Thank God (literally) for the Right Blogosphere.

All that was missing from Carlson's article was a threat about Fort Marcy park.

Remember that Bill Clinton was the candidate Bush 41 most wanted to run against.

No he wasn't. I remember that election and Bush most wanted to run against Paul Tsongas, who was a smart man and a decent guy but who didn't have a personality.

Also worth noting is that triangulation didn't work with Bill Clinton until Hillarycare devastated Congressional Democrats in 1994.

Before that, Clinton was an unabashed liberal.

Finally, Hillary will never be president because, regardless of her posturing, too many people remember her snotty comment "I suppose I could have stayed home and baked cookies and had teas."

People remember her far left policies and they won't buy her triangulation.

Another thing: Hillary's always done best when she's said the least. She's done worst when she's talked about vast right wing conspiracies and having teas and the like.

Finally, the Right Blogosphere didn't exist in 1992, when the Agenda Media gave Bill a pass on tons of things.
