Saddam & Osama

So Saddam Hussein was personally approving Iraq contacts with bin Laden.

Wonder what all those on the left -- who seem to believe Saddam should have been left to go about his business -- will have to say about this?

Carol,

You asked (I believe rhetorically):

Wonder what all those on the left -- who seem to believe Saddam should have been left to go about his business -- will have to say about this?

The short answer is:

Nothing.

Since this information lies outside the acceptable narrative framework, it will be ignored.

But you know that already.

"I don’t think we ever said — at least I know I didn’t say — that there was a direct connection between September the 11th and Saddam Hussein." -- George W. Bush

It must be so tiring keeping two opposing claims running at the same time. Saddam had links to al Quaeda. The President didn't lied about Saddam's links to al Quaeda because the President never, ever claimed that Saddam was linked to al Quaeda.

I'm surprised your head doesn't explode having to keep your story straight all of the time.

It is rather humorous how the trajectory of claims about Saddam's secret papers is similar to the original purported reasons for going to war.

First we were going to war because Iraq had WMD. The secret documents were going to prove Saddam had WMD.

Saddam didn't have WMD--we'll have to claim there was an al Quaeda link. The secret documents show Saddam didn't have WMD--we'll have to produce an unverified handwritten document that claims there was a link to al Quaeda.

Oh well, there's no al Quaeda link--but Saddam was a mean nasty man--yeah, that's the ticket. I'm sure that going forward the translations will prove that Saddam was a mean nasty man.

Heh.

Ms. Twisted Sister,

Seems to me that there is a stark difference between "links between Sadam and 9/11", and "links between Sadam and Al Queda". It's always been quite clear to most of us on the right, not so much for you lefties.

As to tapes and documents being released, the wind that's kicking up from the lefty spin is tangible. I haven't heard anyone call them absolute proof yet, but watching you lefties quake with fear that Bush will be vindicated to any degree is quite entertaining.

the important fact that all the lefties and twisted sisters forget is that their beloved liberal congressmen had all the same information about Iraq and voted to go over and kick Saddam's butt. Hopefully, we'll be able to kick some other's butts that need it in the future, but the MSM is doing it's best to pollute the minds of Americans that we're the ones that are evil.
